Attention, students!
I am sure you are all as eager to begin this semester as I am. Some of you should note that although you registered for Dr. Stevenson’s New York City history course, you have been re-enrolled in my seminar on Greenwich Village. Enrollment in my course was low, but, fortunately, it seems that Dr. Stevenson has become incapacitated.
Unfortunately, my course will not begin for a few more weeks, due to a booking mishap for my return flight from my summer home in Transylvania. In the meantime, I trust that you will all complete the eleven hundred pages of assigned reading. Your grades- and perhaps your lives– depend on it.
